YouTube iMessage app allows you quick access to your recently watched videos. Besides, it also lets you search the ones you wish to share without having to leave the conversation. Read on to find how it works!

How to Send YouTube Videos from iMessage App on iPhone and iPad

Step #1. Launch Messages app on your iOS device. Step #2. Tap on App Store icon. Step #3. Now, locate YouTube app in the app drawer and tap on it. Note: Just in case you don’t see the app in the app drawer, tap on the More button located at the far right → tap on Edit button → and then toggle the switch next to YouTube. (Jump over here to perfectly customize iMessage app drawer.) Step #4. Next, check out your recently watched videos or search the one you want to send. Step #5. Once you have found the video, tap on it and then hit the send button. That’s it! Note: If your friend doesn’t have this app installed on their device, he/she will get the message along with the video thumbnail. On tapping the link, they will be asked to install the app. Now, your friend just needs to tap the link in the message to play the video inline without having to quit the app. When the recipient taps on the video, and it will open in a full-screen player along with playback controls, watch later button, recommended videos, as well as “open app” button to head directly to YouTube. The Volume icon is in the top-right corner to unmute or mute the sound. By default, inline videos are muted. Hence the recipient will have to tap on it to unmute.

How to Send YouTube Videos Through Text Messages on iPhone and iPad

While watching a nice video, if you want to share it with your friends using Messages app, you can get it done from YouTube app itself. Step #1. Launch YouTube app on your iOS device and open the video you want to send. Step #2. Next, you need to tap the Share option. Step #2. Now, select Messages from the menu. Then, you will have to type in the iMessage-enabled phone number or email address in the TO field. Or just start typing the name of the person and then select it from Contacts. You can also write a cool message if you want. Then, hit the send button. Note: One thing you need to know that if your friend doesn’t use iMessage, they will receive a link in an SMS/MMS message. There is another (long existing) way you can share the video via iMessage. To do so, just copy the link of the video → paste it in the text field in the Messages app and share it with your friend as usual. Wrapping up YouTube for iOS has got quite a few neat features recently. Some of the cool ones that I have liked are the ability to control playback speed and live stream iPhone/iPad screen directly to YouTube.
