Strangely, I was kind of skeptic of an app until we tried it. And boy was it awesome. Trailmix iPhone app is obviously the best beat-analyzer-plus-time-stretcher you can get for your iPhone. If you’re someone who works out to the groove of the music playing in your ears, TrailMix is an app that I’m recommending.

TrailMix Pro iPhone App Review

As with all these auto-tempo-changers, I was a skeptic of TrailMix’s performance before I installed and tried the app. The thing about most apps of this sort is the random and often unpredictable tempo changes. Although TrailMix doesn’t offer a manual tempo fixer, it sure knows how to use the accelerometer sensors to catch your workout rhythm almost accurately. For anyone working out to some techno (or any other) music, it makes a huge difference when the song playing resonates with the groove of your workout. It’s workout nirvana, so to speak. This is why a lot of developers work on this gait detection and auto-beat-analyzers. But as far as I’ve seen, TrailMix leads the pack in near-perfection.

There are two things that TrailMix does:

Detect the beat/tempo automatically based on your movements and set the song-tempo accordinglyTrack your performance (steps, average time spent moving, etc.)

Sure, TrailMix also comes with some additional features but at its core, this is what TrailMix is capable of. Light on dark, the interface is cool, techno-like and quite minimalistic in terms of control toggles. TrailMix links to your playlist on the Music app and it brings a couple of functions too (Shuffle and Repeat modes). TrailMix has both a free version and a paid one. While the free version does all the core functions without limitations, you’ll need to upgrade to the paid to get more juice out (for instance, stats). And for the socially active, you can post your steps, time and more right from within the app. Price: Free (Offers In-App Purchases)Download That’s all, mate!
